The sale of intergalactic land is proving to be a great success
The Phantom Galaxies Planet sale will give enthusiastic fans the opportunity to purchase their slice of the universe. The public sale starts on May 27, but there will be two Pre-Sales in the two days before. Collectors will have the opportunity to purchase everything from a small asteroid to a large planet.
Phantom Galaxies has already held a private land sale for its AAA blockchain game and the results have been outstanding. 7,734 Planets and Asteroids sold for $19.3 million. To say that he was oversubscribed would be an understatement.
But fear not public people, there is still a chance to join in the fun. Read on to find out everything you need to know about one of the most exciting web3 sales events of the year.
When is the sale happening?
Presale A started today, May 25 at 12 am UTC. Presale B starts on May 26, also at 12 am UTC. Public Planet Sale opens on May 27 at 12 am UTC.
Phantom Galaxies has also released closing times for auctions that are already underway. These are for eight Medium Planets and one Large Planet. You can see the closing times for these auctions in the image below.
What is for sale?
Asteroids and planets will be for sale. As a general rule, all of them are simply called Planets. The size range, from smallest to largest, goes:
- little asteroid
- large asteroid
- little planet
- medium planet
- big planet
Each one will have unique characteristics and coordinates within the Phantom Galaxies universe. Think of them like bits of land in any other virtual world, except these are on a massive planetary scale.
Holding a planet also gives someone voting power in the government system of the Phantom Galaxies. Active participation in the game multiplies this power, which should act as a good incentive for players to stay engaged.
As with all land acquisitions in the metaverse, it will be up to the owner to decide how to design and form their sector of Phantom Galaxies. They can also decide how they want to govern their Planet. You will also get additional rewards in the future for having them; these will come in the form of drops and the in-game token which has yet to be released.
How much will the planets cost?
You will need USDT or USDC tokens on the Polygon network to buy a planet. Make sure to move your coins ahead of time, so you’re ready to go. Transferring currency across blockchains can often take longer than anticipated when you’re in a hurry.
Phantom Galaxies has put together a helpful tutorial that shows people how to get hold of a MetaMask wallet and load it with enough USDC in time for the sale.
Below are the indicative numbers of Planets that will be available for each sale. Based on the chart, it looks like there will be opportunities in the future to buy more land, so if you don’t succeed this time, there will be opportunities in the future.
What we do know for sure is that Planets will cost the following:
- Small Asteroid – $354
- Large Asteroid – $825
- Little Planet – $2,969
- Medium Planet – $16,500
- Big Planet – $150,000
Who can buy a Phantom Galaxies Planet?
Members of the OG community get early access. Long-term Discord members earned 5,000 NFT hopefuls, giving them access to presale A. There are 7,500 NFT worth of medals from episode 2, giving holders access to presale B. Both are currently available on the OpenSea secondary market. .
After that, the public sale will start on May 27 and, as the name suggests, it will be open to everyone. Phantom Galaxies has stated that anything not sold in Pre-Sales A and B will go on sale to the public.
It’s not clear from their marketing material exactly how many planets will be available during the public sale. But it seems fair to assume that if people are quick, they’ll have a good chance of getting something, even if it’s just a small asteroid.
Where is the sale taking place?
The sale will take place here, on Phantom Galaxies’ own website. You will need to connect your wallet to proceed to the sale.
There is also an auction going on at OpenSea where people can bid on Mintpasses that can be redeemed based on the Planet of the pass. See the image above for the closing dates of the Biggest Planets up for auction.
